This is the latest project from the Kindergarten artists. B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!
The project: To create organic shapes and lines, traced from real objects, to produce a colorful composition using tempera paint and oil pastel.
We looked at the work of Wassily Kandinsky and talked about how he used organic, “crazy,” shapes, and a ton of “wild” color. The kids had a blast discovering different ways to disperse color around their compositions and I heard one kindergartner say “this is amazing!” in reaction to discovering how the oil pastel repelled the tempera paint.
