Kindergarten: Project 2: Matisse Collage

Last Friday the Kindergarten classes learned about Matisse and about his paper cutout collages.  We looked at some very colorful compositions that Matisse created and studied the various shapes and colors he used and discussed and his process for creating his cutouts.  We then imitated Matisse and created our own colorful cutout collages.

The Project:

Using scissors as the primary tool for image making, cut and compose organic and geometric shapes to create a dynamic composition.

Materials:

Construction paper, Glue, Scissors
