The unveiling of all the class gala projects! It was so nice to see all the work in one place, presented so well. They looked fabulous and I hope each piece finds an amazing home.

Hello,
I am loving your ideas! I am an elementary art teacher as well and appreciate you posting your ideas! I am wondering how you got your students’ work printed on the large scale. I’ve tried to do that before and had bad luck (color didn’t come out as it was on the jpg file I had created). Any advice on that topic would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Christy
Hi Christy,
You want to make sure that your monitor is calibrated (colors on your screen can vary, depending on their location and lighting in your house). You will also want to make sure that your computer is calibrated to your printer, and specific printer paper. A lot to think about. The only artwork that I have been printing are class self portrait posters, and am fortunate enough to have a huge printer to make poster size prints. I had kindergarten books printed through blurb.com and everything else is original work. Thank you so much for looking at this blog. It has been a blast creating/documenting all of the kids art projects and being able to share them.
Do you mind if “borrow” some of your ideas? I’d be sure to give you credit! I really like the idea of each grade creating a piece for an “auction.” What a great way to advocate for the arts AND connect with families! How long have you done your Gala event? Any advice for a first timer?
